Farewell Polly!!!
Cricket – The word is in his blood, literally, to this cricketer. With almost everyone from his family in cricket, this young man from Natal did not let his family down at all.
Shaun Maclean Pollock a Cricket Legend to remember says his farewells at his last ever International game.
Born into the game of Cricket with an astonishing six Relatives, who played this game professionally, amongst them his Dad Peter Pollock and cricketer of the Century his Uncle Graeme Pollock. An Emotional Event for most of us Cricket fans. Shaun said his goodbye on Sunday, 03 February 2008 on the Grounds of the Wanderers Cricket Stadium in Johannesburg. In the stands, on this emotional day to support him were his family; his uncle Graeme, his wife and his two daughters. This cricket Legend has had astonishing results in four world cups, at the age of 35 years all his life he has been devoted to cricket. Shaun Pollock ended his international Career with over 780 intl. wickets and over 6700 intl. Runs. A Perfect end to his intl. career was getting a combined man of the series award (J.P Duminy the other holder of the award.) Shaun is not totally ending his career though he will still be making Durban proud on the field amongst all the other Nashua Dolphins. Of course we’ll miss seeing him in the number 7 jersey on the field but the big question on everyone’s mind is whose going to fill his shoes?
